Wheeling is a long way north of us, and we still take the work — because the drive is usually shorter than the wait. You can run it down yourself: Palatine Road east to I-294, south the length of the Tri-State, about 50 miles and an hour and a half. Or call and we come to you, roughly an hour and a half out. Either way you land at a shop that works on car haulers every day — hydraulics, cylinders, bushings, fifth wheels — with the parts for them already on the shelf. That's the part worth doing the math on: a hauler sitting at a yard off Palatine isn't broken so much as it's not earning, and a week of calling north-suburban shops that have to order your cylinder costs more than one trip down the tollway.
Wheeling has no interstate of its own — everything moves on Milwaukee, Dundee, Lake Cook and Palatine until you reach a ramp. The good news is that the ramp you want is the one that brings you straight to our door, with no lane changes worth mentioning in between.

Wheeling is inside our road-service range — call and we're rolling, usually about an hour and a half out, whether you're stuck in the Copart yard on Palatine, sitting on Milwaukee Avenue, or shoulder-side on the Tri-State. We'd rather tell you that number straight than quote you thirty minutes we can't keep.

Hydraulics, cylinders, bushings and fifth wheels are the specialty — but they're not the limit. Brakes, tires, electrical, diagnostics, emissions, aftertreatment, A/C, welding and PM all run through the same bays, on car haulers and on plain semis alike. From 50 miles out that matters: stack the work into one trip instead of splitting it across three shops and three days.
Deck, hydraulics, fifth wheel, ramps and everything else that makes a hauler a hauler — the work most shops send you away for.

Leaking, drifting or dead cylinders, hoses and lines rebuilt or replaced with the parts already on the shelf.

Repair, repositioning and replacement — the wear that gets missed until it becomes a problem on the highway.

Lights, wiring, alternators and starters traced back to the actual fault instead of parts thrown at it.

Codes read and traced to what's actually causing them, plus OBD and CARB testing when it's time.

Forced regens, DEF dosing valves and aftertreatment faults sorted before the truck derates on you.

Scheduled service with a real inspection attached, so small things get caught while the truck is already stopped.

Pads, shoes, drums, air system and adjustment — inspected honestly and replaced only where it's warranted.

Air bags, shocks, bushings and pins on tractor and trailer, so the load rides right and nothing wears out early.

Cracks, mounts, brackets and deck structure repaired in-house instead of farmed out to another shop.

You will pass a hundred truck shops between Wheeling and here. The question isn't which one is closest — it's which one has your cylinder on the shelf and a manager who has run the equipment you're sitting in. Closer shops send the part out and you wait days. We keep car-hauler parts stocked on purpose, which is what makes same day in most cases, next day at the latest a real answer instead of a hope. One trip down beats a week parked at home.
Diagnosed today, fixed today — same day in most cases, next day at the latest.

The hydraulic, cylinder and fifth-wheel parts most shops have to order are already on the shelf.

Diagnosed by someone who ran car haulers for about ten years, so the real problem gets found the first time.

Explain the problem the way you'd explain it to another driver — in English, Russian, or Spanish.

A straight quote before the work starts, and no parts sold that the truck didn't need.

Minutes off the corridor, so getting to the shop doesn't cost you more time than the repair.

Most of the people below didn't start out next door either. They drove, or they called and we came — and the reviews say the same thing about both: the truck got fixed the first time, by people who knew what they were looking at.
My husband came to this shop today right after his trip, around 4 PM on Friday! , in an urgent situation. They took him in immediately and repaired everything within just an hour — very professional and fast. We were also pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the price was. We’re truly grateful for the professionalism, quick service, and overall great experience. Thank you so much! Highly recommend!
Had an electrical problem on one of our car hauler trailers on a Saturday. The guys at Fleet SC said to stop by so they could take a look, they got the driver rolling again in no time. life savers before the long weekend. They didn't over charge or anything, very fair and honest, helpful guys. Will definitely save them for the future.
Great place , professional mechanics, easy in and out , reasonable prices, bilingual customer service ( English, Russian) the company is reliable in all sectors, customer lounge with coffee and snacks. Enjoyed my experience!
Straight answers to what Wheeling operators ask before they make the drive.
Because the drive is an hour and a half and the wait usually isn't. Most shops between here and Wheeling don't stock car-hauler hydraulics, cylinders or fifth-wheel parts — they order them, and you sit while the part ships. We keep that inventory on the shelf on purpose. Call first with what the truck is doing and we'll tell you before you leave whether the part is here.
Yes. Wheeling is in range. Response time is about an hour and a half, and we'd rather give you that number honestly than promise faster and leave you watching the shoulder. Call 224-278-9872, tell us what happened and exactly where you're sitting, and we'll tell you straight whether the fix comes to you or the truck needs to come to us.
Call before you unload anything. Most deck-hydraulic and cylinder failures we see mid-load are fixable where the truck sits, and we carry the common parts on the service truck. If it turns into a shop job, we'll say so on the phone rather than after we've driven up — so you can decide whether it runs down the Tri-State or waits for us.
Call ahead from that distance — 224-278-9872. We're open Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM and Saturday 8AM to noon, and walk-ins are fine. But a three-hour round trip deserves a two-minute phone call: we'll confirm the part is on the shelf and the bay is open before you pull out of Wheeling.
Yes. Car haulers are the specialty, not the limit — brakes, tires, electrical, diagnostics and emissions, aftertreatment, A/C, welding and PM all get done here on trucks with no car-hauler equipment on them at all. At 50 miles, most Wheeling fleets send two or three trucks at once and knock out the PM while the specialty work is in the bay.
Send us what the truck needs and we'll come back with a straight estimate — and confirm the parts are on the shelf before you spend three hours on the road.
Tell us what it's doing and where it's sitting. If it can still run, you're an hour and a half down I-294 and we'll have the part waiting when you get here. If it can't, we're on our way — about an hour and a half.
Five minutes off the interstate and about ten from where I-80, I-94 and I-90 come together, with a gated lot for trucks that have to sit.
